Land Acknowledgement
The work of JDK & Associates extends throughout Turtle Island on the traditional territories of Indigenous Peoples who have cared for and stewarded these lands since time immemorial. Today, these lands remain home to diverse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, who continue to uphold their cultures, languages, and ways of life despite the ongoing impacts of colonization. We are committed to leveraging our knowledge, experience, and partnerships to advance this work.
We recognize that much of Turtle Island is unceded, meaning that Indigenous Nations never ceded or relinquished it and continue to assert their rights and responsibilities to their territories. We acknowledge the historical and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous Peoples and commit to working toward reconciliation through meaningful relationships, respect for Indigenous sovereignty, and active efforts to uphold the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
May this acknowledgment serve as a reminder of our shared responsibility to honor the land, its original caretakers, and the treaties, agreements, and inherent rights that shape our relationships today.
Our Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility
At JDK & Associates we believe that success is measured not just by financial growth but by the positive impact we make on the communities we serve. As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, we are proud to dedicate a percentage of our after-tax profits to organizations that support Indigenous peoples and communities.
Why We Give Back
Indigenous peoples hold a deep connection to the land, culture, and history that shapes our shared world. However, systemic challenges have often limited access to opportunities and resources for these communities. We are committed to fostering positive change by supporting initiatives that promote cultural preservation, education, economic development, and social well-being for Indigenous peoples.
Our Focus Areas
Through our giving, we aim to empower and uplift Indigenous communities by supporting:
Educational Programs: Scholarships, mentorship, and skill-building initiatives that create pathways for success.
Cultural Preservation: Efforts to protect and celebrate Indigenous heritage, language, and traditions.
Economic Empowerment: Programs that encourage entrepreneurship and sustainable community development.
Health and Wellness: Initiatives that address mental health, addiction support, and holistic well-being.
How We Make Our Selections
We take great care to ensure that our contributions align with our mission and values. Our Executive Committee meets regularly to review financial requests from organizations. Each request is carefully assessed to confirm that it supports efforts to promote and protect Indigenous peoples, communities, cultures, and languages. This thorough process allows us to make thoughtful decisions and maximize the impact of our giving.
Our Partners
We work closely with trusted organizations that share our vision of equity and inclusion for Indigenous peoples. By partnering with impactful organizations, we ensure that our contributions are used effectively to make a meaningful difference.
A Shared Vision for the Future
Giving back is more than a business practice—it’s a reflection of our values. We are committed to building a future where Indigenous peoples and communities thrive, contributing their unique perspectives and strengths to a better, more inclusive world.
Join Us in Making a Difference
